A Day In And Around Vienna

The 23-year-old photographer, originally from Graz, recently spent one of the last days of summer frolicking in a lake located just outside of the Austrian capital before heading back to the city center for a huge demonstration to support refugees. Here are some photographs of Fuchs’ day in and around Vienna…

[9:00] Even though my eyes are still closed, I already know it’s going to be one of the last hot summer days of the year. I can feel the warm air on my skin. The first thing I do in the morning is roll a cigarette – always. After that, I try to revitalize my body and have some breakfast with my roommate Laura.

[11:00] I meet a good friend of mine and we decide to take the ‘paradise express’ to flee Vienna’s insufferable dog days. Destination: Teufelstein-See, which is about thirty minutes from Vienna.

[13:00] We enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere of this particular calm place and play with water and light.

[15:00] Out of curiosity, we climb the ‘mountain’ to get a better view. We see people on a self-made float, wonderful landscapes and trees. Next time though, we’ll bring better shoes.

[17:30] I’m back at home to pack some things for the big demonstration this evening.

[18:00] On my way to the city center, I pass by my favorite shop window and some quaint streets.

[19:00] In the name of humanity, respect, love and tolerance, we walk through the streets of Vienna with 20,000 fellow demonstrators. #refugeeswelcome
