American photographer Rebekah Campbell delves into the themes of beauty, femininity and youth in her work. With an impressive list of clients under her belt including Nylon, Purple and Dazed and Confused, Campbell recently moved to New York to further pursue photography. Here she gave us a peek into what a typical day and night looks like in the Big Apple…
In her own words, she says: “I recently moved permanently to New York City, the place where everyone told me I would make it. It’s funny how you create things to be – and not be – once you’re situated in a place you call home. I’m twenty-two years old, and discovering the instances and relationships that spur me on. In part, I’m sustaining and running after the ineffable quality of youth and making myself remember. These photos are a few glimpses of this case, but I shouldn’t give too much away…”
[14:00] Park time. There was a birthday celebration and a lot of Australians that I met.
[17:45] Olivia just arrived off a plane, walking around Williamsburg and the water.
[19:00] Veronika invited me to an art show and then we went to an apartment in Chinatown. Found some gumballs on the way.
[20:00] A place called Elvis Guesthouse that is decorated in one section with fake flowers, it’s this weird spot where hours seem to disappear very quickly.
[0:00] Now we are nearing the end, time is forgotten, and everyone is happy.
