Symmetrical Urban Portraits By Zsolt Hlinka

Scroll

Hungarian photographer Zsolt Hlinka creates symmetrical urban portraits of historial buildings located along the Danube river.

By digitally manipulating his images, Hlinka not only knocks out the surroundings in the background, but also mirrors both sides of each building. The ‘Urban Symmetry’ series is reminiscent of Wes Anderson’s ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’ graphics. In a statement about the project, Hlinka says: “After all, these fictitious buildings coming into existence perfectly grab and condense their original character into themselves, as if you could see human faces and different personalities on the building portraits.”
