A Floating City Sculpture By Nina Lindgren

Scroll

Swedish artist Nina Lindgren created a floating sculpture entirely made from cardboard depicting a fictional cityscape.

“To find inspiration I travel a lot and document my experiences with a camera and through drawing.” Titled ‘Floating City’, the artwork measures about two meters in diameter and was built two times, after disappearing during an exhibition in Copenhagen in 2014. The piece features various tiny houses carved out of the recycled material and put together to one big architectural structure hanging from the roof. With a background in illustration and graphic design, Lindgren works with a wide range of mediums. Says the artist in a statement about her work: “To find inspiration I travel a lot and document my experiences with a camera and through drawing. I’m also passionate about playful, brutalist and quaint architecture, dreamt up worlds and everyday stories.”
