A Parisian Pool Based On Feng Shui Principles

Scroll

Mikou Studio’s ‘Fort’ swimming pool near Paris was designed following principles of Feng Shui: fluidity, openness and flow.

The French studio enlisted the expertise of Feng Shui specialist Laurence Dujardin to bring sufficient flow and natural light to the design, achieved by rounded corners, a skylight and roof windows. The pool’s exterior is adorned in curved golden wood reminiscent of waves. A statement about the project says, “The development of the spaces gives priority to transparency and the depth of field associated with very good use of daylight. All the facades are open and accessible, and the various elements of the programme are organised in the form of light, coloured, rounded bubbles, floating on the project’s spatial continuum.”
