British artist Liz West filled interior of the former St John’s Church with hundreds of mirrors, transforming the historic space into a scene hosting a sensual interplay of light and color.

Tapping into our relationship with color, the artist creates a dialogue between people, artwork and architecture.By creating ‘Our Colour Reflection’, West provokes the viewer’s sensory experience and examines how it can move a person emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. In addition to its distinctive form, the installation also offers a unique experience – it can be seen differently by each visitor, depending on the time of the day or movement through the space. Tapping into our relationship with color, the artist creates a dialogue between people, artwork and architecture.

‘Our Color Reflection’ is not West’s first installation of that kind. Focused on the theme of light and color, the artist has previously worked on large-scale installations, including ‘Your Color Perception’, which had visitors returning to Manchester’s Federation House to witness the space saturated in colour, and her acclaimed installation ‘An Additive Mix’ at the National Media Museum.
