Moleskin, twill and bourette silk are reinterpreted as elegant furnishing fabrics.Founded in 1976 in the silk district of Como, Italy, by Elda and Nicola Fabrizio, DEDAR – an acronym for ‘Design d’arradamento’ in Italian – has been creatively led by the next generation of Fabrizios since 1997, with siblings Caterina and Raffaele at the helm to ensure the company’s rich heritage remains eternally contemporary. Specializing in furnishing fabrics, trimmings and wallpapers, the collection – which features over 300 colorways – includes lush silks, buttery velvets, textured linens and subtle sheers. To produce its collections, DEDAR works with a selection of textile mills that each specialise in a niche technique, 90% of which are located in Italy before being exported to 80 countries around the world. Creativity and research are the cornerstones of the company, which is known for both its technical and aesthetic excellence.

The story threading the collection together is one of both the functional and aesthetic properties offered by the textile world. Classics such as moleskin, twill and bourette silk are reinterpreted as elegant furnishing fabrics in a range of rich and varied color palettes. The range of patterns adorning the collection is equally vast, drawing upon voluptuous heritage motifs as well as and starkly modern forms. Through printing and embroidery, the range encompasses classical references sifted from historical archives alongside abstracted graphics, sequins, pigmental metallic prints and the technique of piercing.
