The multidisciplinary LA-based creator Taidgh O’Neill drew upon his eclectic background in construction, historic restoration and photography to create a geometric, eye-catching collection of rugs.
O’Neill’s design process begins with the creation of an architectural structure using a 3D rendering program. The next step is to simulate the sunlight of a particular season so as to create certain types of shadows. The 4D scene he creates is then exported to a 2D representation in Photoshop before the final images are sent to weavers in India, who use reclaimed silk from sari production to create the rugs.
