Ora Ito’s Sculptural Staircase In LVMH Office

Home to Parisian newspapers Le Parisien and Les Echos, the four-story site is situated in the 15th Arrondissement. Ora Ito has designed the interior with an overall minimalist aesthetic, punctuated by a dynamic centerpiece staircase. Constructed with “An eye-catching parametric sculpture with a biomorphic structure”vertically stacked wooden panels, it winds through the reception area, workspaces, auditorium and canteen. The designer describes the snake-like, modular composition as “an eye-catching parametric sculpture with a biomorphic structure, like a tornado in a mindfully serene office environment.” This nature-inspired addition presents a striking decorative feature to an otherwise simplistic, function-oriented office. As the staircase’s form seems to transform through each level, Ora Ito establishes a creative dialogue between the building’s architecture and those working within it.
