From Swedish waste comes Swedish treasure. The design collective Malmö Upcycling Service have taken waste items from six different industries in the south of Sweden and brought them together in thoughtful design pieces.

From unwanted goods, the industrial design collective—made up of Anna Gudmundsdottir, Britt Jönsson, and Emilia Borgvall—have created a selection of design objects called ‘Odds and Ends’, with the aim of challenging widespread perceptions of waste. From laboratory glass, mirrors, sheet metal, stone and brick, the collective worked with local manufacturers to create decorative objects and household goods that work within the framework of a circular economy. Cleverly, each piece can also to be pulled apart and repurposed itself; enabling a continuation of the very premise of ‘Odds and Ends’.
