Brighton-born photographer Bertie Taylor captured his travels throughout Europe and the United States, documenting his feelings of disassociation in this journal-style series.
This perspective has become a dominant theme of Bertie’s photography — which through intelligent composition examines the relationship between mechanized order and human meaning. Bertie explains the concept behind his photography, stating, “Through a couple of life experiences, I discovered that meaning and honest authenticity is more often found in the most unlikely of places. Much of modern life is mechanically perfect but it is crushing humanity’s soul.” Entitled ‘Order and Disconnection’, this series minimal aesthetic reveals complex themes of belonging, consumerism, and identity.
