In an unassuming side street full of independent galleries in Berlin-Mitte, Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons has operated for over six years.
The Berlin outpost reopened in late 2017, after the Comme des Garçons team completed the store’s new retail look with a minor renovation. Walls were knocked down to open up the intimate space, which was refitted with brightly-lit display units and minimal black cabinetry. Their expanded store houses Comme des Garçons’ multiple collections and diffusion lines: leather accessories, shoes, perfume, and avant-garde clothing collections characterized by their original shapes and silhouettes. Naturally, the store stocks the recognizable ‘Play’ collection from 2002: a signature base range with the quintessential heart logo that was designed by Polish artist Filip Pagowski.
