A Virtual Gallery Explores The Theme Of Uncertainty In An Otherworldly Setting

The idea was conceived of based on how the creative community is sharing the mixed emotions that come with living and working through the current global pandemic. “With conventional design weeks and trade shows being effectively cancelled, both designers and the audience are missing out on the important cultural fabric that the exhibitions provide,” explains a statement from the exhibition. “‘Imagined’ hopes to fill a small part of the void by presenting a model vision for creative collaboration, mutual support within the design community, and an opportunity to engage with a distanced audience.”

The project explores dual themes of ‘imagining unbound’ and uncertainty, through the distinct lens of each participating studio. A selection of frames, featured below, depict SPOT Studio’s graphic sensibility, where consideration for lighting, color, shape, and texture are given an equal poetic stance. The sublime Modernist gallery space is positioned at the water’s edge, where late afternoon sun rays stream in through floor to ceiling glass windows, creating a cinematic atmosphere. The participating design studios were curated by Utharaa Zacharias and Palaash Chaudhary, co-founders of Soft-Geometry. The show will be presented on a dedicated digital platform here from May 8 until June 8, 2020.
