Curated by Lissa Carmona from design company ETEL and Mariana Schmidt from architecture practice MNMA Studio, the exhibition uses the house as a unique and intimate space to highlight the essential substance of Zalszupin’s artistry through an ephemeral and contemporary atmosphere, free of ornaments and distractions. “His architecture surprises for its voluptuous forms, Jacaradá flooring, sculpted niches on the wall, and curvy ceiling,” a press statement explains; adding that “its interior captures a well-chosen selection of original pieces; some from his original house and others edited by ETEL, licensed by Jorge himself and his family.” Through the brilliancy and uniqueness of each individual work, the exhibition goes beyond highlighting his multifarious and layered approaches; it revives interest in modern design, making it timeless and ever more current.
