Spanish photographer Paula Prats captured both the vastness and the minutiae of Iceland during the depths of winter.
Entitled ‘ÍS’ – denoting both the country and ice – Prats’s series combines a documentary style with an abstract one. Her images excuse calmness, yet contain within them a certain air of mystery. Speaking of the intention behind her work, the photographer describes ‘ÍS’ as “A personal depiction of a place where several elements are echoed and connected throughout the series; roads, cars, figures, details of landscape…and ice, undisputed star of this work.”
