A Surreal Vision Of The City As A Living Organism

In AUJIK’s latest video ‘Spatial Bodies’, urban landscape and architectural figures are shown as autonomous living and self-replicating organisms, recalling a mysterious vision of dystopian cities.

Initiated by artist Stefan Larsson, AUJIK is a project born from the fascination for Japanese metropolis structures and metabolism architecture. Domesticated and cultivated only by their own nature, concrete forms in AUJIK’s video oscillate between order and chaos. A series of eerie and surreal scenes, the production is a mesmerizing piece to watch, evoking both fascination and unsettling feelings. The video was shot in Osaka, and manipulated through combining aerial drone footage, digital manipulation in autodesk 3D studio and google maps. The music was specially prepared by Japanese composer Daisuke Tanabe.
