A Minimalist Residence By Robert Konieczny

Known for his lavish yet minimal projects, Polish architect Robert Konieczny proves with each new house that his signature style is not only spectacular but also timeless.

Named Best House by World Architecture News in 2006, the ‘Aatrial House‘ still inspires with its modern design and tasteful minimalism. Made of concrete, the 659 m2 luxurious residence features impressive glass walls and a sophisticated swimming pool. The site, although located by the picturesque forests of Polish region Lower Silesia, had one main drawback – its access from the south-west side, which could cause the collision of the entrance and the garden. The response for that was “pushing” the driveway into the ground. It now leads inside from underneath the building through an inner atrium. As a result, the architects achieved a new spatial model of the house, being the opposite of the atrial building.
